Australia Day!

Spent my first Australia Day in Sydney with friends. It was a very long day and unfortunately the weather didn’t perform making it very much like a English bank holiday. The city was full of events to wonder through. We found ourselves starting at The Rocks strolling through the market and exhibits and heading to the The Opera Bar Kitchen for a drink. On our way to Hyde Park we stumbled across four blocks of vintage cars and firetrucks. Despite the drizzle all day families were still enjoying the Nickelodeon stage as we enjoyed our free warm biscuits. The afternoon and evening was spent at Darling Harbour browsing the shops having a few “four dollar fizzes” and waiting for the fire works.
The fireworks did not disappoint, obviously not as good as New Year but still very impressive. There was a giant cockatoo where flames and fireworks shot out from and two neighbouring sky scrapers had fire works from their roof tops. It was a long fun day despite the pavements turning into slip slides under foot thanks to the rain. Below are two of my favourite photos from the day.
