I had my second camping trip of summer this weekend. It was back down to Coledale.
The campsite is right on the beach and all the facilities where built this time. My friends organised a gang of us and we all headed down Friday night (two night minimum now it’s summer). It’s only over a hours drive away yet you feel a million miles from Sydney.
After a lovely BBQ on Friday night we woke to amazing weather. I spent the morning on the beach and then a few of us ventured to the Helensburgh Tunnels with my new camera.
The tunnels are perfect for anyone who likes to take photos. We ventured a lot further in then last time. It became to muddy so we turned back. I also took the boys to the temple near the tunnels which looks like it is straight out of Asia.
We did call into the Scarborough Hotel for a drink and a snack. If you want a decent table in the beer garden you need to book. It also stops serving food after 5PM.
Back at camp a few games were played before we walked up to Coledale RSL for some pub grub. It was all the usual suspects on the menu and a few extras…everyone will find somthing they like.
A few of the boys went night fishing and the rest of us brought our camping chairs to the beach. We called for breakfast on the Sunday to the Cafe below. I didn’t particularly like my breakfast but MK loved his …I might have been unlucky.
It is another gem to add to the list for a quick cheap weekend away. It is on the list with Kiama.
